Information handled by StrideUp

Basic workout features can be used as a guest. When you create an account, StrideUp processes your email address, Firebase user identifier, and authentication data to create and secure that account.

For signed-in users, completed workout records may include workout type, start and end time, duration, step count, estimated distance, estimated calories, and progress information.

Firebase services may automatically process an IP address, basic device and app metadata, a Firebase user identifier, and a per-installation identifier to authenticate users, operate the service, and protect it from abuse.

A profile photo is resized and stored only in the app's local database on your device. StrideUp does not upload profile photos.

Physical Activity permission

StrideUp uses Android's Physical Activity permission only when you enable step tracking or start a tracked workout. StrideUp does not request Android location permission, use GPS, or collect precise location. Firebase Authentication automatically processes the connection's IP address for security and abuse prevention; an IP address may indicate approximate location.

How information is used

Information is used to provide authentication, save and display workout history, calculate progress, operate step tracking, support account deletion, maintain security, and troubleshoot service failures. StrideUp does not sell personal or health and fitness information and does not use it for advertising.

Service providers

StrideUp uses Google Firebase for account authentication and cloud workout storage. Google processes this information as a service provider under its applicable terms and privacy safeguards.

Retention and deletion

Cloud workout information is retained while your StrideUp account is active. In the app, open Profile and choose Delete account and data to permanently delete your Firebase sign-in, cloud workouts, local workout history, and local profile photo.

Security

Network traffic to Firebase is encrypted in transit. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, but StrideUp uses reasonable safeguards and limits cloud data access to the authenticated user.

Children and fitness guidance

StrideUp is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.

StrideUp provides general fitness information. It is not a medical service, diagnostic tool, or medical device. Consult an appropriately qualified professional before beginning a new exercise program when necessary.
